We are seeking cyber-volunteers around the world interested in contributing to a scientific project entitled MaculaNet at the University of Geneva. This project is aimed to study the structure of different parts of the visual system such as the retina or the optic nerve in a variety of animal species. The work we are asking is to count the cells, for example, the photoreceptors in retinae or the axons in the optic nerve in complex images that a computer cannot analyze automatically.
This project allows volunteers to have direct access to scientific data and to participate in a project in basic science that might be useful for medical purpose. The cyber-volunteers interested can register with the form below. Detailed instructions will be communicated to them. Participation in this project doesn’t require any special knowledge in biology.
