I graduated from the University of Łódź. I did my doctoral thesis under the guidance of Pr. Mieczyslaw Chorazy at the Institute of Oncology in Gliwice, Poland and in the Department of Molecular Biology at the University of Geneva. As a post-doctoral fellow I joined the developmental neurobiology Laboratory at the Salk Institute for biological studies in La Jolla, USA, and then the Department of higher brain function at Washington University, School of medicine, St Louis, USA. Back in Switzerland, I was appointed Research associate in the laboratory of Pr. Marc Ballivet at the University of Geneva. In 2003, I joined Jean-Marc Matter’s laboratory in the Department of ophthalmology, School of medicine at the University of Lausanne. From 2006 to now I am a senior research associate in the laboratory of Jean-Marc Matter in Geneva. My investigations have focused on the transcriptional network underlying the retina development in vertebrates.
