I did a Master in Neuroscience at the University of Geneva. I joined Jean-Marc Matter’s lab during my master to study the dynamic subcellular distribution of mitochondria in the developing retina. Then, I started my PhD thesis as a part of the “Lemanic Neuroscience Doctoral School”. I explore how the proneural protein ATOH7 regulates the interplay between biogenesis of mitochondria and neurogenesis.

Retina development and energy supply

We are tracking in the developing retina the biogenesis of mitochondria – the red dots - in cells identified with different genetic markers – in green - at specific stages in the conversion of proliferating uncommitted progenitor cells to retinal neurons.
